Securing the Future of Work

As people and data move out of traditional offices and increasingly into transient locations, computing platforms and networks – how will security and privacy be assured? Today’s security technologies have failed to scale to the proportions of cloud, mobile and IoT (Internet of Things) as the threat landscape continues to expand and digital business demands parity of threats and countermeasures. What are the options for integrating security into the fabric of workplace transformation and what questions should we ask as new services are instituted? This highly-interactive session will explore the following core topics on our journey to Securing the Future of Work:

  • The ways in which our notion of work and collaboration are changing – and how security is being challenged
  • Organizational barriers and facilitators in adapting to the evolving threat landscape
  • How the bastions of physical security and positive control morph into mobile enclaves and are IoT enhanced
  • Why cloud, mobile and IoT are not the enemies of security and can actually help manage highly distributed security events
  • The transformation of our notions of security and privacy, led by highly-automated Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning

Native OTP with NetScaler: Securing your Citrix Environment Overnight for FREE!

Mitigating password theft, password re-use, spear phishing, etc. has become a costly problem for organizations as they look at expensive 3rd party solutions. A multi-factor authentication solution with NetScaler Gateway is usually one of the first layers of defense in an organization's security strategy for mobile workers. The barriers preventing many companies to deploy a robust MFA solution is budget, time, resources, and expertise to deploy these solutions. This session is a quick look at the new Native OTP (one time password) feature introduced with the most recent NetScaler 12 firmware builds that can eliminate some of these barriers allowing an organization to rapidly secure their Citrix environment.

Now you have the ability to secure authentication at the perimeter without the need for a 3rd party MFA (multi-factor authentication) solution. Everything is configured on the NetScaler itself and uses AD for the backend. No additional servers or appliances required.

This powerful security feature is FREE for Enterprise or Platinum editions and requires no additional licensing. It can secure Citrix environments that don't have an existing MFA solution in place practically overnight.

Native OTP is built upon the nFactor feature of the NetScaler, so you can even chain existing legacy MFA solutions your company may have into the authentication process on a per user or security group basis as you slowly migrate away from them. You can also let the NetScaler make decisions at the time of authentication and adapt to that particular session’s security needs depending on criteria you set!

Security for Citrix Admins and Consultants

Security is an actual topic for every organization and individual. Today hackers are everywhere and can penetrate deep into internal networks and access (and manipulate) critical systems and data. Yet, most SysAdmins never learned how to properly defend and protect against an adversary because in the past, this wasn’t a task or responsibility delegated to the SysAdmins. In this session, we will explain the thinking process of a hacker, different stages of attack and demonstrate several hacks and will give you tips on how to mitigate them. Some things you will see amongst others: RDS and XenApp session Hijack, Windows logon with cloned smartcard and WannaCry infection/spread, EternalBlue exploitation, and of course how these attacks can be mitigated.

VDI Lockdown 1.0: Securing Your Deployment

Citrix has been in the Application and Desktop Virtualization Game for over 26 years, and it has been primarily deployed for Centralization and Security reasons. In this session, you will learn how to secure your Citrix deployment against intellectual property theft, how to survive a penetration test along with some the most common attacks. The amount of attacks continues to rise, and the amount of dat that has been released/leaked from so many companies is staggering. Just like most things, many of these breaches could have been prevented by having basic security policies in place and some basic patching in many cases. We will show you all the free things you can do to lock down your deployment and what products people use to go to the next level in security. Citrix has one of the most comprehensive and secure deployment options compared to any other solution out there, but many partners/clients never take the simple steps to lock it down because of the extra time it takes. Come and listen to learn how to implement true security for your deployment, not just the cookie-cutter, typical vendor solution.

Better Authentication Made Easy: MFA and Captcha!

Protection starts with authentication: knowing your users is fundamental to the overall security posture. In this last session, we’ll showcase how you can leverage Azure MultiFactor Authentication with your onPremises environments, bringing TouchID-based strong authentication into NetScaler Gateway with XenDesktop and how to provide a robust self-service “phone token” onboarding mechanism for your employees. Finally, you’ll learn how to increase the security baseline even with traditional and simple user/password-based forms by utilizing Google ReCaptcha.
