WHAT: The CUGC Women in Technology Mentoring Program is pleased to invite you to a community-wide webinar event with Founder and CEO of EQ Inspiration, Eva Helén.
Session Details: "I worked in YOUR industry for over 15 years, so I know there are mostly men in engineering, leadership and sales. Many of these men care about equality, about having women on their teams, and want to see more women advance and thrive in tech. I find it strange that "Women in IT" events don't include men, so to address this I started EQ Inspiration "Women in Tech, Events for Guys." I talk to men (and gender mixed groups) about how they can support women's advancement and how they can contribute to equality, starting exactly where they are."
Eva will talk about the importance of bringing men into the Women in Tech discussion, based on her own experiences and those of companies and teams she's worked with. She'll talk with CUGC WIT Leader Esther Barthel about CUGC's WIT mentoring program and the motivation behind it, as well as the role of men in supporting women in technical fields. The second half of the discussion will switch over to an interview style discussion with male panelists from the CUGC community, and further explore the role of male mentors, as well as their own experiences with gender inequality in the workplace.
This webinar isn't just for women or men, it's for everyone interested in decreasing the gender gap in the tech field.
