Access your profile
After logging into myCUCG.org, a profile image will appear at the top right of site. If you haven't added a profile picture, this will be a generic image. Click on the picture, then click "My Profile."
Update your profile
On your profile page, click the pencil icons throughout the page to update the various sections. Under your profile picture and Social section will be an "Actions" button to make changes to those. The "Contact Info" section is where you can update your email address.
Update your password
On your profile page, select "My Account." From the drop-down menu, select "Change Password."
Change your privacy settings
On your profile page, select "My Account." From the drop-down menu, select "Privacy Settings." Here you can update the privacy of each aspect of your profile, including who can send you private messages. You can select from "Only Me" (private), "Members Only" (any logged in CUGC member can view), "My Contacts" (only logged in CUGC members who you have accepted as a contact), or "Public" (anyone who visits your profile on myCUGC.org). If you are a blogger on myCUGC.org, keep in mind that if your Profile Picture is not set to public, it will not appear on any blog entries you write that are publicly available unless the viewer is a logged in member of CUGC.
Submit a blog for publication on myCUGC.org
Do you have an article idea for a blog, or a draft post you'd like to submit for review? Contact us with your idea, and include "Blog Post" in the subject. Be sure to check out our Blogging Guidelines first and make sure your post is in compliance with our Code of Conduct.
Post to a discussion forum
To create a new thread in any discussion forum, click the green "Post New Message" button at the top right of the discussion forum page. To reply to an existing discussion forum, click the "Reply" button at the top right of the post you would like to reply to. All posts must be in compliance with CUGC Forum Guidelines. If you do not see these buttons, it means you do not have access to the discussion forum. If the discussion forum is a part of a Local Group, please join that group in order to utilize the discussion forum. If it is one of our global, topic-based forums, you will be granted access to these forums within 24 hours of registering as a CUGC member.
When typing a reply, you can save the reply as a draft if you want to come back and finish it later. To access your draft post, navigate to your profile, click "My Contributions," and select "List of Contributions." The draft post will appear here along with all of your other contributions on myCUGC.org (forum posts, blogs, etc.).
Next to the Reply button is a reply menu. From here you can "Reply Privately" if you would like to send the poster a private message and they have private messaging turned on, or you can "Mark as Inappropriate" to let a moderator know the content is in violation of CUGC Forum Guidelines.
Email notifications from discussion forums and discussion threads
To receive email notifications about activity in a discussion forum, navigate to your profile, select "My Account," and choose "Community Notifications." From this page, you can select the email frequency for each forum that you are a part of, including our Global Forums and any Local Groups you are a part of. You can select from "No Email" (receive no email notifications from this forum), "Daily Digest" (receive 1 email each day with a summary of activity in the selected forum), and "Real Time" (notifications are sent immediately after any activity occurs in the selected forum).
To follow a specific thread in a discussion forum and receive email notifications when new activity occurs, click the star next to the "Follow" text at the top right of the thread.
Change your profile email address
On your profile page, click the pencil button next to "Contact Info." Click the green "Change" button next to your current email address on the form that appears. Enter your password, then enter the new email address to use. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom left of the form when finished to save your password.
Update your email preferences
On your profile page, select "My Account," then "Email Preferences." On this page, you can choose the types of emails you receive from CUGC. Please read the descriptions to know exactly what types of email each category will send. For instance, "Promotional Emails" aren't what you think of as promotional. These are CUGC newsletters about upcoming events, blogs, webinars, and other CUGC offerings.
The settings for discussion forum emails are housed in a different location. Please review the "Email notifications from discussion forums and discussion threads" section for details on how to change these settings.
Not receiving emails from CUGC?
Are you not receiving emails from CUGC? There could a few different issues at play. The first thing to do is check your email's spam folder to see if we're getting caught by your filters. Mark our emails as not being spam if you see any.
If you don't see us in your spam folder, let's check your profile settings. Log into myCUGC.org and navigate to your profile. Double check your email address to make sure it's up-to-date. You can change your email address by clicking the pencil icon by the "Contact Info" section under your profile picture. The next thing to check on your profile is the settings for emails you receive.
We know that many members use an email address associated with their employer. This can be convenient, but can cause issues with strict email filtering or if you change jobs in the future. We suggest that you consider using a personal email address or an email address that you are in full control over the filtering settings for. If you do use an employer email address, and are still unable to receive emails after checking all of the above, try requesting to whitelist the following domains and IP addresses with your employer: connectedcommunity.org, mail.connectedcommunity.org, 22.214.171.124, 126.96.36.199, 188.8.131.52, 184.108.40.206, 220.127.116.11, 18.104.22.168, 22.214.171.124, 126.96.36.199, 188.8.131.52, 184.108.40.206, 220.127.116.11, 18.104.22.168

Register for an event
To register for a CUGC event, log into your myCUGC.org account and follow the steps below.
Local Group Events: Navigate to the event you would like to attend and click the blue "Register Now" button at the top of the event page. Follow the prompts and fill out your details to register.
XL Events: From the main XL event pages, click the "Register" button at the top right of the event details. This will take you to the calendar entry for the event. Click the blue "Register Now" button at the top of the event page. Follow the prompts and fill out your details to register.
Webinars: From the calendar entry for the webinar, click the blue "Register Now" button at the top of the event page. You will be directed offsite to a brief GoToWebinar registration form.
Special Events: For special events such as the CUGC Pregame at Citrix Synergy, click the blue "Register Now" button at the top of the event page. Follow the prompts and fill out your details to register.
Cancel event registration
Can't attend an event you registered for? Navigate to the calendar entry for the event, and click the yellow "View Itinerary" button at the top. On this page, you can see the details for your registration. To cancel, click the red "Cancel Registration" button at the bottom.
Accessing file libraries
To access files on myCUGC.org, first log into your account. To view global files available to the entire community, click the "Files" tab in the main menu navigation across the top of the site, then "Files Home." From here you'll be able to access Webinar Recordings, CUGC Hub Files, My Favorited Files (files from any library that you have followed by clicking the star icon on the file entry), XL Event Files, and CUGC@Synergy Files. To view files available to a specific Local Group, navigate to that group's main page and click "Library."
Join a local group
Looking to join a CUGC group in your area? Check out our Local Groups page for a list of groups around the world. Click on the name of the group to view the community. Click the orange "Join Community" button at the top right to become a member of the group.

Leave a local group
Have you moved and want to leave a local group from your previous area? Navigate to the group's main page, click the "Settings" button at the top right, and click "Leave Community."

Other Site Features
Have a question for another member that you don't want to post in the forum? You can do so via private message. This can be done a few different ways. The first is to navigate to the person's profile, then click the ellipsis (...) next to the "Add as Contact" button. This will give you the option to "Send Message." If you're in the discussion forum and want to send a message to someone who has responded to the tread, click the down arrow next to the "Reply" button in their post for the option to "Reply Privately." If you'd like to message one of your contacts, navigate to your profile and choose "My Connections" followed by "My Contacts." Each contact will have a button to "Send Message."
Please note that individual members have full control over whether they receive private messages or not. A member can choose to receive messages from any CUGC member, from contacts, or from no one.
Want to get another member's attention in a blog post, forum post, or comment? Simply type @ and the person's name to tag the member. Depending on the member's settings, a notification will be sent informing them about the mention.
See a blog, forum post, or file that you think is good? Click the "Recommend" button at the top right of the entry to let the community know!
Register for webinars
From the calendar entry for the webinar, click the blue "Register Now" button at the top of the event page. You will be directed offsite to a brief GoToWebinar registration form.
Watch webinar recordings
To watch webinar recordings on myCUGC.org, first log into your account. Next, click the "Files" tab in the main menu navigation across the top of the site. From here you'll be able to access Webinar Recordings. Recordings are listed with the newest first. You can sort the list based on a variety of criteria, included alphabetical and Most Viewed. When you find the webinar you would like to watch, click on it to open the entry. On the entry page, you'll see a description followed by an embedded video of the recording. You can play back the recording directly on the site or download it for offline viewing.
